If you are currently experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please immediately contact the medical service if you are a Member of the European Parliament or your general practitioner (GP) if you are a staff member and do not come to the office. The test centre cannot conduct tests for the corona virus if you are presenting any symptoms.

Below you can find answers to some of the most Frequently Asked Questions about COVID-19 testing at the European Parliament.

The European Parliament is offering COVID-19 PCR tests to all employees and Members of the European Parliament as well as to the beneficiaries of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). The EcoCare COVID-19 test centre provides a walk-in option for testing.

The test center is located at Batiment Altiero- Spinelli, Place du Luxembourg 100, Ixelles 1050.

No drive through test provided.

Testing will be available to Members of the European Parliament and staff members (including accredited parliamentary assistants and staff from political groups, and by extension to trainees and freelance staff).

Screening is also available to beneficiaries of the European Economic and Social Committee – EESC (members, delegates, alternates, experts and assistants of disabled members).

You will need your EP or EESC email address to get registered for an appointment and you will need to bring your badge at the day of the test.

Family members of the Members of the European Parliament and Staff members can be also tested. Family members can get tested only if escorted by the Family Member of the EU Parliament (i.e. the Father/Mother which is Member of the EUP has to escort his/her family members at the Test Center and to show the badge.

The test is free of charge for Members of the European Parliament and staff members (including accredited parliamentary assistants and staff from political groups, and by extension to trainees and freelance staff).

People who have symptoms such as fever, cough or a sore throat are not allowed to enter the test centre. In such a case, do not come to the office and contact the Medical Service immediately if you are a Member. Staff members should contact their general practitioner immediately

Your COVID-19 test results will be sent to you electronically via email. In addition, you will receive a Code via SMS to open your test result, which offers extra data privacy and security. We kindly ask you to ensure that the e-mail address and mobile phone number that you provide are correct as any error can lead to not receiving the results.

Results will be available within 24 to 36 hours after your sample has been taken (in > 99% of all cases). Kindly note that in the event of a positive test result, the respective health authorities will be informed as per Belgian legislation.

For the password, people are kindly requested to check with their service provider.

Yes, registration with a QR code is always mandatory. People cannot show an already used QR code to be tested.

The medical center of the European Parliament provides antigen tests information. Once you got the necessary information, people can head to the Covid test center to get tested.

If you are a Member of the European Parliament or a staff member (including accredited parliamentary assistants and staff from political groups, and by extension trainees and freelance staff) or beneficiary of the European Economic and Social Committee – EESC (member, delegate, deputy, expert or assistant of a disabled member), you can make an appointment for a PCR COVID-19 test free of charge. The test is available at the European Parliament in Brussels located at the entrance to the BRANDT car park. Simply use the website using your EP or EESC email address to register and make an appointment.
